About

Today, we seem more overwhelmed, more stressed than ever before.  Work/life balance?  Many quietly and desperately ask, “what balance?”

Working more effectively with others in 2010 is a requirement; it implies being more influential.

How can we do so in the face of what seems to be ever more uncertainty and change?  And importantly, how can we be influential and not lose touch with our personal values, our sense of right and wrong?

There are things we can do.

This is a blog about unpacking the habits or patterns in the way we decide what we are trying to achieve, and the patterns in how we work with others to do so.

A change in focus,  of perspective – reframing how we think about what we are trying to achieve – can make a significant difference.  Taking a step back to notice, understand and work with greater insight into the patterns in our thoughts and behaviour.

Welcome to the Influence Effect.

I am an organisational psychologist and executive coach based in Melbourne. This blog is as much for me as it is for you.  I want to explore issues that impact the way we work with others: to understand what possibilities there are in any given moment to improve our influence.
